Hurricane Season is Here
The Atlantic Hurricane Season runs from June 1 - November 30. During severe weather, City of Southside Place personnel will closely monitor active weather alerts and warnings and keep residents updated on the effects to the city. Residents can register to receive alerts via text or email in Notify Me.
After the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey, there are new suggestions on how to prepare for a hurricane. Please visit the Emergency Preparedness page for the list of suggested supplies to include in your Hurricane Kit. The page includes helpful links to local and national emergency information as well as important phone numbers for emergency assistance.
New Recycling Guidelines in Southside Place
Recently, the Waste Management Recycling Division visited city hall about new recycling guidelines. Waste Management no longer accepts plastic bags, styrofoam, or any food waste. Please sort plastic bags and styrofoam out of your recycles and wash all food waste from containers. October 26, 2019 - Heavy Trash/Shred It
On October 26, the City of Southsde Place will conduct Heavy Trash/Shred-It Day for residents. Residents can bring boxes of personal records to city hall for free shredding between the hours of 9AM - Noon. Heavy trash collection starts at 8AM.

December 7, 2019 10AM - 2PM - 7th Annual Winter Wonderland Carnival
The carnival will be held on the fields outside Southside Clubhouse and all proceeds go toward funding improvements to Fire Truck Park (The Southside Place Fire Truck Park fund is a 501(c)(3) organization.) Activities include carnival games, inflatables, a silent auction, a shopping bazaar, face painting, food and drinks, Santa, and a huge pile of snow - fun for the whole family! Come relax with your neighbors while you raise money for our beloved neighborhood park!

Texas Water Development Board - Flood Stakeholder Workshops
The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) has added a fourteenth workshop to its roster of flood outreach meetings around the state. The meeting will be held at Houston City Hall on Friday, August 23, at 9:30 a.m.
Southside Place 2018 Water Report
The 2018 Southside Place Drinking Water Report is available at City Hall and on the website. Southside Place purchases 80% of its drinking water from the City of Houston.
Poor Farm Ditch Presentation and City Drainage News
A Poor Farm Ditch presentation by the Flood Control District is available on the city website and at City Hall. Southside Place has submitted over $8 Million to the Texas Department of Emergency Management in drainage application funding requests for Edloe, Auden, and Harper Streets. Proposed projects are being reviewed by the state agency at this time. Comments and questions are welcome by email or phone at 713-668-2341.
Sign Up with HCFCD to Receive Customizable Water Level and Rainfall Alerts
Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) has announced enhancements to their website to provide residents the option to receive automated alerts regarding water levels and rainfall via text message, email, or both.
Mosquito Prevention Spraying Has Begun
The city began the annual mosquito prevention spraying on April 2, 2019. Spraying will occur weekly on Monday evenings after 10PM. If you have any questions or concerns please contact City hall during business hours.
2018 Tax Bill Mailout
All tax bills have been mailed. The Over 65 exemption is $185,000. "Homestead Exemptions Not Available" are printed on all residential bills. The average appraised home value in Southside Place is $1,419,579.

Heavy Trash/Shred-It On Saturday, October 26, 2019 the City of Southside Place will provide heavy trash pick-up for residents in the city. Household hazardous collection will also take place. Pick-Up begins at 8 AM. Please place paint or other household hazardous items on the curb. Shred-It collection will take place in the Town Center parking lot from 9AM - 12PM. -
